We’re Joanna and Kate, two medical students who spend just as much time (if not more) poring over cookbooks and food blogs as we do textbooks and lecture slides. To us, food is more than sustenance for our studies. It is a way of connecting with friends and family, promoting health, and maintaining balance. After nearly a year of cooking up a storm for weekly potlucks, impromptu dinner parties, and late-night sugar cravings, we decided it was high time to document our culinary adventures.

We admit that at this early stage of our medical training, we know very little about how to cure disease. But what we can prescribe you is a sugar cure: the promise that good food, shared with good company, will lead to a sweeter life.

  1. Love love love your blog and can’t wait to read more!!! Kate, you must try Smitten Kitchen’s Giant Crumb Coffee Cake, made with rhubarb. Probably the most delicious coffee cake I’ve ever made and/or eaten.. a fun and delectable use for rhubarb! Can’t wait to pick the rhubabrb from Ali’s front yard and try your galette!
